Great Lakes Windows Costs And Quotes

Explore Great Lakes window costs and prices from past homeowners and consumers who have used their Bayshore, Lifestyles, Seabrooke, Uniframe, and ecoSmart series. Great Lakes Windows And Doors is actually owned by Ply Gem, which is one of the bigger building supply companies in the industry. The company still makes their windows and patio doors under their own name, which reflects the quality of their products prior to their purchase. (Companies that get purchased and had a poor reputation always get subsumed under the parent company's name.) In general, the company enjoys a good reputation and is typically considered a quality seoncd tier vinyl window manufacturer.

Great Lakes manufactures a number of vinyl window lines, including the entry level Bayshore, mid range Lifestyles and Seabrooke model, and premium Uniframe and ecoSmart series. I'm not a fan of the Bayshore or the Lifestyles, but their other windows are pretty solid performers. I think the Uniframe is a good vinyl window.

Great Lakes tends to be more of a regional manufacturer with some decent distribution in the mid western states and their mid and premium models at a competitive price point are absolutely worth a hard look.

Great Lakes EcoSmart Window Cost

Great Lakes EcoSmart Price Bid

I have collected five bids quotes from local window companies on 3 doors and 31 windows -- I was hoping you could comment with the idea that this is my forever home.

Marvin Infinity Fiberglass Window Bid: $78K

Great Lakes EcoSmart Window Bid: $62K

Great Lakes Comfort Smart Window Bid: $53K

SoftLite Pro Window Bid: $42K

Simonton 6500 Window Bid: $40K

Jim, all other things being equal, I would say the Soft-Lite Pro is the best option. I really like the Great Lakes EcoSmart series, but it's not worth $20K more than the Soft-Lite Pro.

Great Lakes Harbor Light Window Cost

Great Lakes Harbor Light Bid

Currently, we have single-hung windows. We want to replace them on a tight budget. We don't think high-end windows are necessary because we are 60 years old and we simply don't know how long we'll live in this house.

Our home has two-stories with 17 windows. A three-panel sliding patio door also has to be replaced.

Great Lakes Harbor Light in Wisconsin is quoted at $21,600, while Provia Endure is quoted at $28,000.

Any suggestions?

Site Editor's Response

Dawn, those are not cheap quotes. The Great Lakes Harbor Light is the company's entry level window so I'm not sure I would go there. However, the ProVia Endure, which is a fantastic window, is sooo expensive in your bid. I think I might suggest getting two more bids just to see how those price comparisons come in...
