Aria 610 Windows Costs

CWS Aria vs PGT 5410 Series

We are set to replace 2 sliding glass doors and 14 windows and our Florida home. We have two quotes so far and I'm trying to get a sense of what my best option is. I'd love to know which you think is the better option.

1st Bid: CWS Aria sliders and MI 1615 sliding doors: $10,375

2nd Bid: PGT 5410 sliders and PGT sliding doors: $11,650

Site Editor's Response

Jennifer, I like CWS as a brand of windows, but I'm really not a huge fan of MI windows . They are a good sized company, but they concentrate on builder quality windows, which is not a good recipe for long term value. The PGT window and slider bid is the better of the two as PGT makes good windows and patio doors. It is absolutely worth the extra cost in my opinion.

CWS Aria Window Cost vs ViWinTech

I need to replace 10 windows near the Florida cost. So far, I have three bids, all from companies local to the the Pensacola region. I'd love to get your opinion on how these stack up to one another. I like the idea of single hung because they seem like less hassle and easier to open for my wife.

CWS Aria 610 Single Hungs: $6200

Regency Plus Tech 2000 Double Hung: $6500

ViWiNTech 5100 Double Hungs: $8100: 6750

Site Editor's Response

Toby, I would definitely put the CWS at the top of this list. It's as good, if not better, than the other two and it is less expensive. CWS makes a good vinyl window and they have a solid reputation in the industry. You may want to try and negotiate that price and see if they will drop the price at all.

CWS 8100 Windows Costs

CWS WindPact Plus Series 8100 Quote

I live in Tampa Bay, FL and need five windows to be replaced:

W- 36, H- 37 Quantity 1

W- 36, H- 50 Quantity 3

W- 52, H- 50 Quantity 1

The all-inclusive price quotes received:

Simonton Stormbreaker Plus Double Hung - $6694

PGT Vinyl 5500 Impact 5500 - Impact Single Hung - $6695

CWS WindPact Plus Series 8100 Single Hung DP100 - $4593

What is my best option? Is CWS 8100 a good quality window?

Kalyan - June, 2020

Site Editor's Response

Kalyan, I bleieve the CWS 8100 is a good window, as good as the Stormbreaker in my opinion. The PGT 5500 Impact window might be a bit better, but not worth that price increase. Assuming you like the company doing the CWS install, that is what I would gravitate to myself.

CWS 8100 Windpact And PGT 5500 Series

I have two bids on 6 windows that pretty big, approx. 72 inches by 52 inches. These are both single hung windows. We live in Florida.

CWS 8100 Windpact Plus Series: $1450 per window

PGT 5500 Series: $2100 per window.

Colleen - April, 2018

Site Editor's Response

Colleen, I'm not sure how much work is involved with these windows, but that's quite a hefty per window cost. If it were me, I'd get a few more bids and see if I could drive down the per window cost.

I'd look at the Simonton Stormbreaker Plus series or the Simonton Coastal Series. Stanek also makes a very good hurricane window and they might have a dealer in your area.

I just think these two bids are really high, but I might be wrong.

CWS 8100 Replacement Costs

We are replacing 8 single panes with hurricane windows. So far, I have 2 quotes -- the difference in price is just $600

CWS 8100 Series: $5600

PGT 5500 Series: $6100

Tommy - October, 2016

Site Editor's Response

Tommy, these two series are very close to one another in quality, features, and construction in quality. I'd say that PGT has a bit better reputation -- or perhaps I'd say they are a little better known that the Custom Window Systems. However, I like each of these companies for impact windows and I think you'd be well served with either one. I think the PGT is probably worth the extra $600 only for the fact that PGT has the stronger reputation and therefore is more likely to be around in 15 years if something were to go wrong. Hopefully you won't have to deal with that!
