CWS Windows Prices Quotes
Explore CWS windows prices on their Aria, Storm Strong, WindPact Plus, Clear Advantage, and Icon window series. Custom Window Systems is a Florida based vinyl and aluminum window manufacturer that specializes in both impact and non-impact windows. However, they are particularly known for their "hurricane" or impact products for coastal homes. Are Custom Window Systems good? CWS, as they are often referred to, generally enjoys a good reputation and makes quality products at relatively affordable prices.
My Call: Get a price quote from CWS - they are a quality manufacturer.
(I always recommend multiple price quotes)

Jennifer, I like CWS as a brand of windows, but I'm really not a huge fan of MI. They are a good sized company, but they concentrate on builder quality manufacturer, which is not a good recipe for long term value. The PGT windows cost bid is the better of the two as PGT makes good products in general. It is absolutely worth the extra cost in my opinion.

CWS Aria Window Cost
I need 10 replacements near the Florida cost. So far, I have three bids, all from companies local to the the Pensacola region. I'd love to get your opinion on how these stack up to one another. I like the idea of single hung because they seem like less hassle and easier to open for my wife.
CWS Aria 610 Single Hungs: $6200
Regency Plus Tech 2000 Double Hung: $6500
ViWiNTech 5100 Double Hungs: $8100: 6750

Toby, I would definitely put the CWS at the top of this list. It's as good, if not better, than the other two and it is less expensive. CWS makes a good vinyl product and they have a solid reputation in the industry. You may want to try and negotiate that price and see if they will drop the price at all.

PGT 5500 Series: $2100 each

Colleen, I'm not sure how much work is involved, but that's quite a hefty per window cost. If it were me, I'd get a few more bids and see if I could find something a bit more reasonable.
I'd look at the Simonton Stormbreaker Plus series or the Simonton Coastal Series. Stanek also makes a very good hurricane window and they might have a dealer in your area.
I just think these two bids are really high, but I might be wrong.

Custom Window Systems vs PGT
We are replacing 8 single panes with impact graded units. So far, I have 2 quotes -- the difference in price is just $600
CWS WindowPact Plus 8100 Series: $5600
PGT 5500 Series: $6100

Tommy, these two series are very close to one another in quality, features, and construction in quality. I'd say that PGT has a bit better reputation -- or perhaps I'd say they are a little better known that the CWS. However, I like each of these companies for impact windows and I think you'd be well served with either one. I think the PGT is probably worth the extra $600 only for the fact that PGT has the stronger reputation and therefore is more likely to be around in 15 years if something were to go wrong. Hopefully you won't have to deal with that!
