Explore Ideal window costs and prices from real consumer quotes and bids on their past projects. Ideal Window is a New Jersey vinyl window and patio door manufacturer that has quite a long history to them. They aren't a household name by any means and in general they produce what most contractors and industry insiders would probably term mid range vinyl windows and doors. Are Ideal Windows any good? I think they make a good product and their top tier window, the Majestic, offers performance data that rivals Okna and Soft-Lite Windows, specifically a U-value of .23 and an air infiltration rating of .02, with their low-e glass package.
Ideal window series include the UltraTite, DuraWeld, the Majestic Signature, and the Platinum 3000 window. I think Ideal is worth a look and a bid, and they are certainly better than a lot of the bargain or budget manufacturers out there.

Hi. I am replacing 14 windows with Ideal Platinum. My county is strict re lead and installer says current windows test positive. They want $50/window extra to 'lead-safe practices'. Is this a reasonable price? Thx!

Ideal Windows vs. Okna
Dan, I have two bids, one on the Okna 500 and the other on the Ideal Platinum 3000. The Platinum 3000 has very good energy efficiency, but a much lower VLT when compared to the Okna 500, .45 compared to .55. I want to get as much light in as possible so this is a big concern for me.

Robbie, I don't think you would notice a difference between .45 and .55. Both the Okna 500 series and the Ideal Platinum 3000 are good windows, so I would go with the Okna 500 if you like more light to enter the glass. Of course, the big concern for me would be the installation company doing the work and the overall cost comparison between the two jobs.

I have five to replace 15 windows and I live in Pennsylvania. I'm trying to figure out which is the best value for my money. Any assistance is appreciated.

Francis, the price quote you have on the Zen Nirvana is good. The Ideal Platinum window however is also quite good and that is a pretty smoking deal. I might have to consider the Ideal Platinum to be the winner here.

Ideal Windows vs Kensington
I'm in the process of collecting bids for 12 replacement windows -- the bids that I have I posted below. They include removal, debris, installation, the whole nine yards. Wondering what you think.

Chase, I like all of these bids. The Kensington Huntington is a good window, as is the Ideal Platinum. However, the Okna 500 might be my pick. I'd say the 500 is on par with the Vytex Fortis. If you can afford it, the Okna 800 series is the best of the bunch, but of course it is also the most expensive. I would also look at the installation quality from the local company bidding out the job as one of the key factors in making your decision.

Ideal Platinum vs Vytex Fortis
Do you know how the Ideal Platinum 300 window compares with the Vytex Fortis window. The Fortis is $1700 more than the Ideal -- both quotes come from well reputed companies in the area. We also got a bid on the Okna 500, but they are $3800 more and out of our price range.

Annie, the Ideal Platinum and Vytex Fortis should be pretty close in terms of quality and construction. So the Ideal would be the better deal on the face of it (depending on how many windows we are talking about). Okna is definitely a step above both the Ideal and the Vytex, but I understand that $4000 is alot more to pay. I think the Ideal Platinum 300 window with quality installation is a decent middle of the road vinyl window that you should consider.

Ideal Platinum 3000 Window Costs
I'm 69 years old and never purchased windows before so I'm trying to get all the help I can. I'm looking at the high end Ideal Platinum 3000 window. I have a bid for 15 windows with grids fully installed ball park quote is $6700 with one tempered window. Without grids and tempered glass around 6000. Seems like a very fair price if the windows are good. The company helped Ideal with this new window, which they indicate is an upgrade to the Majestic, what questions do you think I should ask or firm up when I go the showroom? Thanks for all your help.

Gene, hi, I have to say this is an excellent price for that window. The big question I have is on the performance data. Did they measure the U-facor from center of glass (this can be done to make the U-factor lower or better sounding than it really is). Also the air infiltration number, is that using triple pane or double pane - you want the double pane number since that's what you are buying.
Assuming these numbers are right, I wouldn't have too much concern about the window itself. I would just make sure that the company who is installing the window is very thorough in their installation and doesn't cut corners to save money.
If you are satisfied with the company, then I think you have done a great job!

David, prices have gone crazy over the past two years. I keep waiting for them to come back down to earth, but I'm beginning to think that's not going to happen. Of course, your project may require additional work that is driving up the price. I'd reach out to more local companies and get some more bids. Ideal is usually well priced...

What is your take on the Ideal Majestic series? We recently got a bid on 23 windows, some larger others smaller. The average price came out to $550 per window. Is this a good price for the window?

Barry, the Ideal Majestic series is a very solid vinyl window that has an excellent air leakage number of .02, virtually impossible to beat (the Okna 800 window and Soft-Lite Elements are the only two windows I can think of that are lower.)
The price you were quoted, $550 per window, is frankly an excellent average price for this window. You may want to see if you can get the dealer to go lower than this by asking him to match another bid you have, but as it stands now, you have a very fair price quote!

Ideal Majestic Pricing
I was wondering what you thought of the Viwinco Cambridge series and the Ideal Majestic? I have a couple of quotes -- the Viwinco Cambridge is $265 per window and the Ideal Majestic is $375 per window. I have 13 windows in all. Eight years ago we had 15 windows replaced with Viwinco (can't remember model name) and so far have had no problems with them.

Ronnie, I'd probably say the Ideal Majestic is a touch better than the Cambridge, but not by much. Assuming you like the Viwinco windows and they have served you well over the years, it stands to reason that you'll like them again. Obviously this assumes good installation, which is always key with replacement windows in general.

Ideal Majestic Window Cost
My home was built in the 1920s outside of Philadelphia and I'm replacing 29 openings (40 windows in total). I have two contractor quotes that are very close and I'm trying to figure out which is the better option. The first one is using the Ideal Majestic Signature and the quote is for just over $25K. The second is from BF Rich and is just under $25K. Do you have an opinion on price and quality of either of these two?

Benny, that's a big job you have on your hands. Of the two brands you currently have bids on, I'd have to say the Ideal Majestic Signature windows is going to be the better value over the BF Rich. If it were me, I'd get two more bids to compare what you currently have and to see if you can't get a better window brands like an Okna or a Sunrise Windows. These will offer better value in my opinion.
