Price Of New Windows
What is the price of new windows in today's market? While this isn't always the easiest of questions to answer, we will certainly attempt to give it our best shot. However, local window companies are not bound by any price rules. Therefore, they can bid out your window replacement project any way they see fit. However, if you stick to our price points, you can toss any ridiculous quotes and concentrate on the ones that offer the best long term value.
So, let's drill down on vinyl, wood-clad, fiberglass, and aluminum windows. For some quick history, home window prices rose quite a bit during 2021, 2022 and 2023. In 2024 and 2025, prices seemed to stabilize, although we still see loads of ridiculously expensive quotes. Here is a very general price range (that actually doesn't tell you all that much).

Price Of Vinyl Windows
First up, we have vinyl windows - the best value material on the market in my opinion. In a nutshell, vinyl is affordable, strong, durable, and requires no maintenance. However, let me clarify - cheap vinyl windows will be inexpensive, but will not provide long term value. So, homeowners can expect to pay $500 to $1400 for normal sized vinyl windows with installation. Consumers will pay roughly $900 installed. Additionally, new construction installation adds $250 per window.

Houston Replacement Windows
Hey John, we live in the Northwestern part of Houston metropolitan area of Texas. We are looking to replace 39 single pane aluminum frame windows. We have gotten 3 estimates that I'll post here. Please send your list and some feedback on my estimates. Just stumbled across your site.
Simonton True View (w discounts) $45,050
Andersen Acclaim (w discounts) $119,623
Anlin Del Mar-E (w discounts) $79,664

Louie, I think you're off to a good start. The Renewal Acclaim is just way to high to consider in my opinion (not worth it). Anlin Del Mar windows are great, but man that's a steep bid -- certainly keep it in the hopper. Simonton True View? I'm not sure I know which series this is.
The name seems to indicate a series similar to the Simonton Daylight Max where they increase the glass area and use a more narrow frame, which cuts down on the performance numbers, but does get you more glass to look out of. I'd say you need to collect one or two more.

Burris vs Anlin vs Renewal By Andersen
Dane - many thanks for the information on your website. We are in the greater Houston area and are looking to replace our home's original windows (circa 1996). The bids have ranged all over the place - any recommendations on what we have received below would be helpful! 30 windows - 60% of which are large picture windows, 4 single hung with "eyebrows" and a couple of casement / sliders.
COMPANY 1 Burris TechView AC = roughly $30,000
Guardian Ultimate Windows = roughly $42,000
COMPANY 2 Anlin Del Mar = roughly $53,000
Renewal by Andersen = approximately $115,000
From an installation perspective, both Company 1 & 2 have fantastic reviews. Question - is there a sufficient performance difference between Burris TechView and Anlin Del Mar to justify the price delta?

Nicole, that Anlin Del Mar price quote is pretty darn high compared to the Burris TectView AC - have you asked for a quote for the TectView EX series? I would like to see what that series comes in at. It's a bit beefier with a stronger frame design and while it wouldn't quite be comparable to the Del Mar, it wouldn't be off by all that much.
Honestly, I don't know anything about the Guardian Ultimate - did they provide you with any performance numbers on that window? If so I would LOVE to see it. That company also sells Don Young windows, which are quite good - what about a bid on that one for good measure?
The Renewal price quote is ridiculous. How long do you intend to stay in the home? If it's under 12 years, then I'm fine with the Burris TechView AC. If longer, I'd like to see the upgrade to the TectView EX at the very least.
